Intuit has just released Quicken 2007 for Mac OS X Lion. Image from Intuit website. Quicken was originally written for the Power PC Mac. The 2005, 2006, and 2007 version of Quicken for the PPC is not Lion-compatible. With the new version written specifically written for OS X Lion, people can now use Quicken on their Macs.
A web-based Quicken that I could access from anywhere would be great. For instance, I am at work and receive an email with my current cable bill amount and the date due. I would love to just log into Quicken and update the date and amount due in the Bills section. Quicken today announced the launch of the 2018 version of its popular finance and budgeting software for the PC and Mac. Quicken 2018 introduces access to online bills from more than 11,000.
You can go to Intuit’s download page to get Quicken for OS X Lion. The download costs USD 14.99 for existing users of Quicken for Mac 2007. Intuit advises new Quicken customers to get Quicken Essentials for Mac, a stripped down version of Quicken for Mac written specifically for Intel-based Macs. To get Quicken Essentials, you can either download it either from Intuit’s page for Quicken Essentials for Mac. Prior to the update, OS X Lion users who wanted an application for managing their personal finances had to look for alternatives, such as iBank, Money 4, and Intuit’s free online app.

Considering all that, a few years ago I started upgrading every other year. Last year, after checking out the new features and the user reviews for Quicken 2014 on Amazon (users gave it roughly three stars out of five), I decided to hold out for a third and final year. When Quicken 2015 was introduced last fall, there were the usual to the Windows version, while the user reviews on Amazon seemed, on the whole, similar to the previous year's. Had it not been for the Discontinuation Policy, I would have passed on this version and waited for Quicken 2016.
